It's all about confidence. If you think you can pull it off, you can totally pull it off but since I'll be the Queen, you can stick with the tee shirt and jeans. I'll wear enough leather for both of us. This is going to require thigh high boots though.

[She contemplates this a moment.] Yes but I'm hiding the laser gun dealy that Harry made me in it.

[Eyebrow raise.] You have an actual laser gun?

Yup. [She leans back, reaching across the counter to get her purse sitting next to the grocery bag. She pulls it to her, unzips it and fishes around until she finds what she's looking for. She pulls it out and holds it up. It looks more like a very rudimentary pen sized flashlight than a gun. There's a little button on the side that she does not press.]

Laser screw driver gun thing. Harry built it for me so we could blow away snowmen one day then had me keep it for protection. It only does destroy and injure. His did lots of things. If you want to shoot things with it, we can. Just outside.

Well duh. [She mock rolls her eyes, grins and hops down from the counter. It takes her a second to slide the wedges back on her feet.] Let's go shoot things. We'll call it target practice.

Target practice. [He straightens up quickly and strides to the door, holding it open with an over-dramatic flourish. Clearly he likes this idea.]

[Oh good. This will be fun. She leaves her bag on the counter, just taking the laser screwdriver with her. She goes through the door with a big grin]

Thank you kind Sir. [That might be an over exaggerated Southern accent you're hearing.] Let's find some things in an alley to shoot.

[He follows after her eagerly.] How much does that thing get used?

Not much. I've never used it on a person. I couldn't get to it last time I needed it.

I'll be good with just shooting it at cans in alleys. Possibly Rido. Not that I think it would kill him. [She can't stand Rido because of the trying to kill her that he did a long time ago.]

Rido? [She shrugs a little as they head outside toward the alley.] He's a vampire. Very mean, very creepy and not nice. He lurks around the Underground most of the time. He's annoying because he thinks he's oh so superior to humans and we should all just offer our throats up to him to rip out. For some reason he respects Harry. My best guess is Harry was A)Not human and B) Sneaky evil but anyway, he saved me from Rido once.

[She stops and hands over the laser screwdriver then goes to set up some cans in the alley.]

Geez. I mean, I can't say that's not what I'd expect from a vampire, but... yeesh.

[He fiddles with the thing, looking to over. It definitely doesn't match with his mental image of a laser gun, but there is something about it that seems inherently powerful.]

I was kind of hoping he'd sparkle and fall in love with high school girls. [Not that Neil will necessarily get that pop culture reference. She finishes setting a few cans up and then steps back to his side.]

Okay, point and shoot. It's that button on the side.

[She's pretty sure it's not super powerful because Harry wouldn't give her a weapon she could hurt him with but it is powerful enough to hit anything human and a lot of things not human with and hurt them. It should blow the cans away.]

[Neil has a sister, so he gets it-- and kind of half-laughs, half-groans at the comment.]

This one here? [He aims, squinting one eye shut, and presses down tentatively.]

[Lucy laughs at the groan. She likes when people get her pop culture references.]

Yup. [She tenses a little anticipating the small explosion that results when he hits the cans.]

[Lucy won't hold it against him if he jumps a little, right? Because he isn't really prepared for the blast that catches the edge of two of the cans-- okay, so his aim is a little off, but it gets the job done anyway.]

It's totally fun, right? I never really liked the whole gun thing with the kicking but that doesn't do that.
