I hate the frakking friend zone, you know? No girl ever seems to see me as anything besides... I don't know, a kid. Or any guy, for that matter, but I'm so afraid of my own bicuriosity that I don't even want to admit it to myself. I'm not that young.
I haven't had a real date that didn't involve a mistaken identity or being used for some ulterior motive since high school, pretty much.
It just freaks me out sometimes, because I'm afraid I'm going to end up alone.

Right. [He raises his arms up over his head to facilitate the shirt being yanked off, and it doesn't take long, but Neil finds he doesn't like a break in contact even for a second-- so as soon as his arms are free again, he tangles his fingers in Lucy's hair to pull her back in to him again.[

[Lucy is all too happy to oblige, letting herself be pulled into the kiss. She runs her fingers through his hair, tip toeing up into the kiss. He's warm and she can almost feel his heart beating between them. It makes her more desperate to have him even closer.]

[Neil's hands slide down slowly, coming to a rest cradling against her hips. He presses tentative kisses against her neck and jawline, breathing in the scent of her hair.]

[That makes Lucy whimper softly and tilt her head to one side, exposing more of her neck. The elevator jerks to a stop and Lucy puts one hand on Neil's chest, steadying herself but she's still leaning against him.]

Empty apartment. Now. Or just stop the damn elevator between floors.

[Neil reaches out and jabs frantically at one of the elevator buttons, hoping he's got it right and it will open onto someplace workable. He figures he still has time to screw this up somehow, and hopes to the high heavens he doesn't.] How d'we know which ones are empty?

Something unlocked. [He'd have to try really hard to screw this up at this point. She reaches out to turn the knob of one apartment while looping the fingers of her free hand through the belt loops on his pants to pull him closer to her. Really not liking the lack of contact right now.]

[The door is a lucky first guess, and the relief of that gives Neil an extra burst of adrenaline. He hooks his arms under Lucy's knees, hoists her up, and carries her inside.]

[That makes Lucy laugh, a good thing any time. She wraps her legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders then dips her head to kiss his neck. The kissing turns into a nip and the nipping into sucking. Yeah, he'll have a hickey there tomorrow.]

[Neil gasps appreciatively, pulse thrumming loudly in his ears as he backs Lucy against a wall and trails a gentle hand exploringly up against her thigh.]

[Oh appreciation is good. So is gasping and the exploring is definitely good. She rakes her fingernails lightly up his back and squeezes him a bit tighter with her legs, urging him on.]

[Neil spins them around so his back is against the wall, and slides down slowly, pulling her into his lap. He grasps at the hem of her dress and lifts slowly, gazing at her with a question in his eyes, as if he's still not sure if this is okay.]

[Lucy bites her bottom lip but it doesn't suppress her smile. The question in his eyes is pretty clear and that's the reason she smiles. Most of the guys she sleeps with wouldn't wonder this far into things. She nods a little and reaches to the side to undo the zipper there so he can pull the dress over her head. Underneath she's just wearing black cotton panties with the word 'Sweet' across her ass. The dress is strapless and she's petite enough that she can get away without wearing a bra.

She leans forward to nibble at his collarbone, her hands going to the button on his jeans.]

[His eyes flash excitedly. His hands roam up from her hips to caress her shoulderblades, and he leans in to whisper in her ear.]

[If he's not careful, he's going to make her cry but it would be a good cry. She buries her face in his neck, quiet and still for a second before she presses her lips against his skin.] You are the sweetest man.

[And then to break the ice, she leans back, smiling at him. No those aren't tears in her eyes.]

But if you don't help me get your pants off, I'm going to get cranky.

[He laughs, half lightheartedness and half nerves.] Well, we wouldn't want that. [He takes her by the waist and lifts her up, easing them both to their feet again. He helps her out and lets his jeans fall to the floor, before cupping her face in his hands and drawing her in for a tender kiss.]

Exactly. [She watches him with a hungry look, the tip of her tongue between her teeth. When he finally kisses her again, she tiptoes up into the kiss, her hands sliding down his body.] Much better [She murmurs it against his mouth, not breaking the kiss just yet.]

[He wraps his arms tightly around her waist, drawing her in even closer, close enough that she can feel how much he needs this, and hums longingly against the kiss.]

[She's already stretching her leg out to try and toe the tiny clutch bag over ot her so that she can get ahold of it and not stop touching him.]

[Neil nods, slightly light-headed. He leans over to pick it up as quickly as he can, everything in him protesting against the break in contact.]

[Lucy reaches out and winds her arm around his shoulders again as soon as he's within arm's reach. With her other hand she fumbles with the bag's catch to get it open. She looks up at him, one eyebrow raised.]

[His eyes widen, and he shakes his head emphatically] No, no, definitely not. Nothing like that.

Oh [Her eyes go wide just because she's a little surprised then she grins and tosses the handbag over her shoulder. She puts her hands on her hips, purses her lips and considers him.] Dead girl. Can't get pregnant. Not sure about getting diseases so hence condoms. Okay. You're sure you want to do this 'cause it's a no going back once it's done thing.

[She's trying to be fair. She knows if she's touching him he'll never think with anything but the downstairs brain.]

[This is a good answer. Relieved, he relaxes, taking in her warmth, one thumb tracing her jawline as he varies deep and shallow kisses. His other hand strokes her shoulder a few times before sliding down to cup one of her breasts.]
