11.) [audio.]

Okay, yeah, this sucks. I'll admit it, okay? I hate that nobody ever wants to... no, y'know what? Forget people not ever wanting to do anything, people don't even hardly know I'm there unless I say something. It blows and I hate it and I'm... lonely. Okay? I said it, are you all happy now?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Not much. I've never used it on a person. I couldn't get to it last time I needed it.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well. As awesome as it is that you have it, let's hope you never actually need it again.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'll be good with just shooting it at cans in alleys. Possibly Rido. Not that I think it would kill him. [She can't stand Rido because of the trying to kill her that he did a long time ago.]

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Rido? [She shrugs a little as they head outside toward the alley.] He's a vampire. Very mean, very creepy and not nice. He lurks around the Underground most of the time. He's annoying because he thinks he's oh so superior to humans and we should all just offer our throats up to him to rip out. For some reason he respects Harry. My best guess is Harry was A)Not human and B) Sneaky evil but anyway, he saved me from Rido once.

[She stops and hands over the laser screwdriver then goes to set up some cans in the alley.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Geez. I mean, I can't say that's not what I'd expect from a vampire, but... yeesh.

[He fiddles with the thing, looking to over. It definitely doesn't match with his mental image of a laser gun, but there is something about it that seems inherently powerful.]

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I was kind of hoping he'd sparkle and fall in love with high school girls. [Not that Neil will necessarily get that pop culture reference. She finishes setting a few cans up and then steps back to his side.]

Okay, point and shoot. It's that button on the side.

[She's pretty sure it's not super powerful because Harry wouldn't give her a weapon she could hurt him with but it is powerful enough to hit anything human and a lot of things not human with and hurt them. It should blow the cans away.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Neil has a sister, so he gets it-- and kind of half-laughs, half-groans at the comment.]

This one here? [He aims, squinting one eye shut, and presses down tentatively.]

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Lucy laughs at the groan. She likes when people get her pop culture references.]

Yup. [She tenses a little anticipating the small explosion that results when he hits the cans.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Lucy won't hold it against him if he jumps a little, right? Because he isn't really prepared for the blast that catches the edge of two of the cans-- okay, so his aim is a little off, but it gets the job done anyway.]

Whoa.

...Awesome.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
[She won't hold it against him at all. She jumped and screamed the first couple of times.]

It's totally fun, right? I never really liked the whole gun thing with the kicking but that doesn't do that.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my gods. This is friggin' awesome!

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lucy laughs then bites the tip of her tongue between her teeth.]

Let's go buy watermelons and blow them up.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[He keeps giving her this look like he can't quite believe she's real.] Frak yes.

Have you ever tried shooting this thing at paint cans?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
O

M

G

NO! But we should buy some of those too. We can take it all out to the edge of the City and shoot it.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
We can get a whole bunch of different colours and make a show out of it.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[She reaches over and takes Neil's hand as they start back down the alley.] I think we can get watermelons and paint at City Mart.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds good. Lead the way. [He gives her hand a little squeeze and smiles.]

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's good with the leading most of the time.] So what's the worst thing to happen to you in the City?

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[He runs a hand through his hair and thinks.] Probably either the time my ex showed up as memory-projection-ghost-thing for a day, or... [He hesitates.] I... forgot the other thing I was gonna say. [He seems pretty eager to change the subject now.] Uhmm, how 'bout you?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's not stupid but she won't push the issue. They've all got things they'd rather not talk about. She purses her lips, considering what to say. She's had some really crappy things happen in the City but she's had a lot of good.]

When the City turned into Heaven and Hell. My mom showed up once like that though but it wasn't a projection-ghost thing. More just her voice, calling me over and over like she was lost.

So what's the best thing?

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That's rough. The Deities have a shit sense of humour.

[He relaxes now, because this is a more pleasant question to think about.]

Most of it's been good actually. People complain about being here but I think it's better. For starters, I don't hate this.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[She shrugs a little.] It has to get it's daily dose of misery to keep ticking, I guess.

[She looks over at him and smiles.] No, this doesn't suck and yeah...there are a lot of good things about the City. It's hard to explain that to people sometimes. They just see the bad because the bad is huge and the good is usually...smaller.
