11.) [audio.]

Okay, yeah, this sucks. I'll admit it, okay? I hate that nobody ever wants to... no, y'know what? Forget people not ever wanting to do anything, people don't even hardly know I'm there unless I say something. It blows and I hate it and I'm... lonely. Okay? I said it, are you all happy now?

[Neil turns bright red, on account of occasionally he has the mentality of a thirteen-year-old boy, and his mind definitely just turned that into a euphemism, intentional or not.]

D'you think my midi-chlorian count is high enough for that?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-08 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[She ponders that a moment, lips pursed. She's also trying to follow where his mind went that made him blush so brightly. It doesn't take her long before she bursts out laughing. She actually was being literal but his way is better. She reaches over, running her fingertips over the curve of his neck.]

We may have to work up to it, make sure you can handle the exertion. [She bites her bottom lip then confesses] More of a surface Star Wars geek, what are midi-chlorian counts?

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, uh. [He rubs at his nose, a little embarrassed. His geekiness is showing again.]

Midi-chlorians are like these particles in your blood, and the more you have, the stronger the Force is in you. That's the short version, but that's the basic idea.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[He's lucky he's an adorable geek]

In that case, I think your midi-chlorians are very high.

[Lucy comes to a stop by an empty lot. She looks over to Neil and then looks back to the lot.] This looks as good a place as any to shoot things.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, looks good. [He picks a spot and begins unloading their cargo, arranging it to make a miniature shooting range.] What d'you think? Think we'll draw an audience?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lucy glances around the area then shrugs.] Maybe. The paint cans might be loud.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Guess we'll see. [He gives a little indulgent bow and arm gesture.] I think you're up first.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
[She grins at him, fishes the screwdriver out of her purse and adopts a very sassy pose, her weight back on one hip, screwdriver in both hands like a gun, one eye squinted shut. She shoots at a watermelon, hits it and squeals.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He throws a fist in the air and lets out an appreciative whoop.]

Totally can't even tell what that was anymore!

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
[She holds out the laser screwdriver, a grin still on her face.]

Your turn. We need a whole field full of things to shoot. Maybe pumpkins when it gets pumpkin time.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[He takes the screwdriver and fires off a well-aimed blast at the other watermelon, and grins widely at the resulting havoc.]

Pumpkins would be totally sweet! That's how we should celebrate Hallowe'en.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And it's good! [Arms go up in the air. Celebrating exploding fruit must be done.] But with dressing up. That's the fun part of Halloween.

[If she realizes she's suddenly just made plans for months into the future, she might panic but so far she's too busy with the exploding fruit.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[He hands the screwdriver again and nods.] That and having an excuse to eat way too much candy.

Any idea what you're going as this year?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lucy has to think about that a moment. She wiggles her pursed lips back and forth as she tries to decide.]

I don't know. I didn't celebrate last year 'cause I was mad at the City for bringing me back like from Daddy's funeral.

[She aims the screwdriver at one of the paint cans, squints one eye shut and blows away a paint can, splashing everything in the immediate area with bright yellow paint. Luckily they're standing a decent distance away.]

I have a slave Leia costume. You could dress up as Luke Skywalker and we could do lots of making out in public. [Because it's wrong and funny. Or at least Lucy thinks it's funny.]

I'M BACK BITCHES, frak you computer problems

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
We'll have to make this year good, then.

[He gives her a tentative hopefully-reassuring smile. When the paint can explodes, he applauds.]

Paint was a good idea. Leia's a good idea, too. [And he smirks, because yeah, it's funny because it's wrong.] I always thought I was more of a Han Solo type, but either way it works.

YOU SHOWED THEM

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll see. It's a long ways off and the City has this whole thing about taking away people I like.

[She returns the smile with a tentative one of her own that turns to a bigger grin.] Yeah, someone here is brilliant. [She winks at him.]

You know Han Solo gets the girl. [Sort of an observation. Maybe a warning. Possibly a suggestion. Who really knows at this point.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-15 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm not going anywhere.

[He fixes her with a really serious stare at the bit about Han Solo and tries out his best Harrison Ford voice.] I know. [But then he cracks a smile and bursts out laughing.]

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
At least you don't plan on it. The City might have other ideas.

[The laughing is a good thing. It keeps the whole thing from being awkward or too serious.] And what if I like just Neil better? 'Cause I'm pretty sure after Han got the girl, the girl stopped being interesting so he had to go find another girl that was more interesting. First alien hottie in a bar and Leia was a passing thought.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Annnnnd there is that stupid grin again.]

You're choosing me over Han Solo?

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh she likes the stupid grin. Way too much for her own good. She shrugs and tries to be casual about it.]

If I'm going to a Halloween party with someone, I'd rather it be someone who is still going to like me in the morning. You passed that test. Or you fake it really well. Either way, you're getting picked over Han Solo.

[Halloween is totally code for 'date' and like is code for 'not ditching me' but the sentiment is there.]

You still have to dress up as him.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, I'm kind of a bad actor. [More grinning.]

I am okay with this.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lucy bites her bottom lip, just watching him for a few seconds. Her stomach does the twisty, fluttery, butterfly thing. It would be so easy to fall back on Harry as an excuse and try to scare Neil away with a warning that the Master would kill him if he knew about the whole liking thing. Its a cop out though. One that doesn't really work so well. Of course the Master might kill him if he knew but that's neither here nor there since the Master hasn't been around in months.]

Can you just kiss me because my brain is trying really hard to go haywire and it wants to influence my mouth and not thinking plus not talking is the best option right now.

[Does she look terrified right now? Probably. Definitely nervous in any case.]

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-08-18 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[The terrified look might be slightly mutual, because now Neil is experiencing that thing again where girls do things he doesn't understand, and he can't figure out if it's his fault or what to do next. Thankfully, Lucy has given him a helpful instruction here.]

Y-yeah, I could do that.

[He lays a palm against her cheek and leans in to kiss her, still a little bit timid, even now. When he pulls back, he gives her a cautious smile.] You... okay?
