[Neil is locked in a sort of stand-off with Little Neil, resident cat and his namesake. Not that they are standing-- both are crouched on their stomachs on the ground with matching vacant expressions. This goes on for some time. Those who continue watching the feed, however, will eventually see Neil rise to his arms and knees and look pointedly at the screen, and then back at Little Neil, as though imploring those watching to do something about the situation at hand.

Finally, Little Neil raises a paw and swipes at Neil's face. Neil recoils for a split second, and then the two chase each other off screen.]

[Neil, with no regard for propriety or personal space or Stephen's obvious discomfort, nuzzles against Stephen and mews quietly. He's just saying thank you, what's the big deal?]

[With a great deal of trepidation, Stephen puts an arm around Neil's shoulders.]

I am giving you so much hell for this tomorrow.

[Neil grins and licks appreciatively at Stephen's fingers. Tomorrow is like, sooooo long from now. No need to worry about that now.]

[Stephen wipes his hand off on Neil's hoodie.]

[Completely undeterred, Neil sniffs Stephen's face, purring.]

[Stephen slowly wrenches one arm free and pulls away. He goes back into Little Neil's box of cat toys and comes out with the fail-proof cat-distractor - a little feathery bobble on an elastic. He ties it a little higher up than he normally would and bounces it enticingly a few times.]

Go for it, Neil.

[Neil has half a mind to give Stephen a lengthy You-Are-Just-Trying-To-Get-Rid-Of-Me lecture, but... that thing! Is just dangling there! And it needs to be attacked right now! So attack it Neil does, darting about and batting at the new little opponent from every angle. Yes, this should keep him busy for a while.]
