[Neil is locked in a sort of stand-off with Little Neil, resident cat and his namesake. Not that they are standing-- both are crouched on their stomachs on the ground with matching vacant expressions. This goes on for some time. Those who continue watching the feed, however, will eventually see Neil rise to his arms and knees and look pointedly at the screen, and then back at Little Neil, as though imploring those watching to do something about the situation at hand.

Finally, Little Neil raises a paw and swipes at Neil's face. Neil recoils for a split second, and then the two chase each other off screen.]

[Stephen wanders into the living room in his pajamas, just as Little Neil tears past him, hissing.]

Uh, Neil? What's going on, man?

[Neil looks conflicted for a moment, looking from Stephen to Little Neil and back again-- and then darts over to Stephen and sits, leaning against his leg and looking up at him expectantly.]

[Stephen looks down at the rather pathetic-looking Neil pressed against his legs and gives him his best Stills-eyebrow-raise.]

Dude, you had better be cursed. It is way too early in the morning for this.

[By way of response, Neil lowers his head and rubs his hair against Stephen's leg.]

[Okay, getting a bit weird now. Stephen grabs one of Little Neil's near-by sparkly cat toys and tosses it towards the other side of the apartment.]

[Dawn was actually enjoying the little scene until there was violence. That gets an audible gasp/squeak from her.]

Ohmigod, are you okay?? Cause cats and claws and your face. Are you okay?

[Oh! Dawn! Neil sits up straight and tries to look dignified. Which is not easy, seeing as he's just being chasing about on all fours, and has angry red claw marks on his face and tears forming at the corners of his eyes. He blinks back those tears and smiles a little, in a way that he hopes seems brave and not-hurt and impressive.]

[Dawn gets that worried look on her face that she gets when her friends/family are hurt.]

You're -- there are claw -- okay what do you need? Cause I will totally scold that cat. Don't you wish cats understood english? They they could know when you said bad kitty that -- nevermind, not the point.

[Neil opens his mouth, then frowns. He rearranges his bangs with the back of his knuckles, straightens back his shoulders, and makes a low mewing sound.]

Okay, look around you. Can you see the other cat?

Look, I know you're annoyed because he got your name first, but there's no need to make him look like the bad guy, Moses. No need at all.

[Neil turns his face to show the slightly swollen red scratches across his nose and cheek, and stares meaningfully.]

You had it coming, Moses. I'm amazed Neil's tolerated this treatment for as long as he has.

[Put upon sigh.] Why can't you just put aside your differences and try to get along? I'm sure you and Neil would get along fine if you'd just give him a chance.

[Neil considers this for a moment. He goes and grabs a cat toy and paces over to where Little Neil is hiding under the couch, and nudges the toy forward as a means of peace offering.

And then he looks back at the screen for praise.]

[Well at least that clears one thing up. Totally cursed. The correct response to Neil's behavior in this instance is clearly to laugh.]

[Neil runs back on screen, tilts his head to the side, and grins.]

[He smooths his hair a couple of times with a closed fist and lets out a low, fond-sounding mew.]
